Before your surgery at Impressions Face + Body, the medical team will provide you with detailed instructions on how to prepare. This may include undergoing additional medical tests, adjusting medications, and avoiding certain painkillers or herbal supplements. It's important to stop smoking and drinking before the surgery, as they can impair healing. The surgery is performed on an outpatient basis, which means you can go home after a brief observation period. However, you won't be able to drive yourself home, so make sure someone is available to take you.

As part of your procedure, a local anesthetic will be administered to numb the area. The entire process usually takes two to three hours. Dr. Dayan will make three incisions in specific areas easily concealed with hair or makeup. These incisions will be made behind each ear and one beneath the ear, allowing Dr. Dayan to access the chin and tighten the skin and tissues in the neck. After trimming excess skin, the remaining skin will be sutured for a smoother neck contour.

Like all invasive surgeries, minor scarring should be expected; however, due to Dr. Dayan’s advanced techniques and years of expertise, all incisions made during a neck lift are placed strategically in easy-to-conceal locations such as under the chin and behind the ears. As a result, any scarring that does develop is not readily visible and tends to fade with time.

Following your neck lift procedure, it is common to experience slight discomfort in the days following your surgery. During this time, patients must rest comfortably with their heads elevated. Preparing a recovery room in your home is one of the most important things you can do to prepare for your procedure. Depending on your condition, you should be able to return to normal activities and work within a week to 10 days. However, you must avoid extensive physical activity for at least two weeks or until Dr. Dayan has cleared you.
